Kit is a third year PhD student and his research involves using a combination of Density Functional Theory (DFT) and experimental techniques. His focus is on gaining a fundamental understanding to the thermodynamic, structural and chemical properties that govern ionic conductivity in halide-type solid electrolytes. This will aim to provide optimisation and design principles for all-solid-state lithium ion batteries.
